There are only a few weeks left of 2023 and that is the perfect time to reflect on some end-of-the-year reading. The 2023 End of the Year Book Tag is a great way to talk about the books that are on my radar. This tag was created by Ariel Bissett on YouTube.

2023 End of the Year Book Tag
Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
I have three books that fall into this category.
The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs has been on my shelf for a while now and I finally started it at the end of November. I haven’t gotten very far into it, but I am looking forward to reading this one.
Leading the Rebellion was a book I donated to when it was on Kickstarter, as I love Jason Kingsley’s YouTube channel. I have been slowly picking away at it since it arrived. It would be nice to finish it this month.
Hopefully, I can finish all three of these before the year ends. However, non-fiction books often read slowly, so I’m not sure how well I will get through these.
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
I don’t tend to do seasonal reads, so no book comes to mind for this.
Is there a new release that you’re still waiting for?
I’m still waiting for Yona of the Dawn Vol. 40 to arrive. This book was released on December 5. Hopefully, it will come soon, but sometimes mail gets delayed, so I’ll be happy when it does arrive.
What are three books you want to read before the year ends?
My Happy Marriage Volume 3 is high on my list to get through. I absolutely loved the first two volumes and cannot wait to dive into this one. I really want to see Miyo and __ find some happiness and quiet time together, but I feel like they have more trials to get through first.
The Gingerbread House in Mistletoe Gardens is a holiday romance book that I plan to read before Christmas. I don’t tend to read a lot of Christmas-themed books, but this one sounded good, so I decided I’d give it a try.
Five Years After is the fourth book in a series I have been enjoying and it’s about time I get around to reading this one.
Is there a book that you think could still shock you and become your favorite of the year?
Shock me into becoming a favorite? No. But a few books I hope to read this month will likely be a favorite – as I loved the previous books in this series. My Happy Marriage Vol. 3 is one of those books.
Have you already started to make reading plans for 2024?
Of course! In early December, I was already starting to pick out books to read in January. I have yet to figure out in what order I will read them.
