We are firmly in the second half of 2025, and that means it’s the perfect time to do a 2025 goals mid-year check-in. At the beginning of the year, I set a number of goals that I wanted to accomplish over the course of the year. With the first 6 months over with, it’s time to see how much progress I have made with these goals and where more work needs to be done to keep on track.
2025 Goals Mid-year Check-in
2025 Bookish goals
Read at least 6 non-fiction books
Yes, and more. I have read 11 non-fiction books so far.
Visit all of the Little Free Libraries in town
So far, I have found 3 Little Free Libraries in town.
For some reason, the LFL site shows none exist in my town, so it’s a matter of wandering around finding what I can. I have no idea how many more there are in town.
Reduce my physical TBR
I’ve done okay with this. I have read a decent number of the books from my physical TBR. However, I have also added quite a few books to it, so the overall progress is negative.
Reduce my ebook TBR
Not even close. I have only read a couple of ebooks this year. So, yes, technically that doesn’t reduce my ebook TBR, but by an extremely minuscule amount.
Finish at least 5 series
I haven’t done the best with this, only having finished one series so far.
Read 10 new-to-me authors
I’ve knocked this out of the park. At this point, I have read 26 new-to-me authors.
Use the library more
Another one I have knocked out of the park. I have read 35 books from the library.
25 Books to read in 2025
I haven’t done very well with working through this list of books I want to read this year. Hopefully, I’ll do better in the second half. Here’s what the stats look like:
Books read: 3
Books DNF: 2
Books unread: 20
2025 Blogging Goals
Give the blog a facelift
No. I am still working on this. However, this task has been mostly ignored for the last 6 months.
Post 1-2 times a week
I would say I have been 90% successful with this one. I did miss a couple of weeks when life got hectic but otherwise, I have posted at least once a week.
Send out a newsletter 1-2 times a month
Nope. I haven’t sent a single newsletter this year. I plan to do better in the second half of the year.
Be more active on social media
I’ve been semi-successful with this one. I am plenty active with BlueSky and Twitter, and semi-active with Facebook. However, my weak spot continues to be Pinterest – technically, I don’t think Pinterest is social media, but for this task, I am counting it as one.
Update old posts
I have done a couple of old posts; however, I haven’t gotten to as many as I had hoped to at this point in the year.
2025 Life Goals
Try at least 5 new recipes
I have tried 4 new recipes already, so I’m doing well with this one.
Make a latch hook rug
Not yet. I have had a heck of a time finding good quality latch hook backing to use to get started with this. Hopefully, I can get this done in the second half of the year.
Relearn how to use my sewing machine
I haven’t gotten around this one.
While it’s obvious I still have a lot of work to do in order to complete all these goals, I am happy that I have made a decent dent in some of these.
I hope you enjoyed my 2025 Goals Mid-year Check-in. How have you been doing with your yearly goals?
