April 2025 goals & March review

Another month is here, and it feels as though this year is flying by already. The weather has been gorgeous lately, and that means much of my focus for the foreseeable future will be on the garden and various outdoor tasks that could not be done during the winter when we moved. Before I get to my April 2025 goals, I want to take a moment to go over how I did with March’s goals.

March review

March was a rough month and a perfect example that sometimes life happens and goals don’t always get done. Sometimes, we fail at goals, and that’s okay. Mid-month, our one dog got attacked by another dog, and my focus and much of my time was then spent on her, ensuring she was kept calm and quiet and that she was healing well. As expected, my goals were put on hold once that happened, and that is reflected in this goal overview.

Read at least 10 books

Surprisingly, yes! Much of my reading happened in the first half of the month, so I was able to get through 10 books.

Take an online course

Nope.

Study Japanese

Sort of. I started off strong in the first half of the month but then stopped in the second half of the month.

Watch at least 1 season of a show & 1 movie

Not quite. I did watch the movie Temple Grandin, however, I did not get around to watching any series from my to-watch list.

Start the garden

Barely. I did get a single seed tray planted with tomato and pepper seeds on the final day of the month. It’s less than I was hoping to get done but it’s a start.

Post twice a week on the blog

No. I barely posted once a week and fully skipped a week from posting.

Work on new blog graphics

No.

Update at least 4 old posts

Nope. I managed to get 1 post updated.

Reply to comments within 72 hours

Nope. Admittedly, in the first half of the month, I somewhat forgot about this goal, and then the second half of the month I was distracted, so this was another fail.

April 2025 Goals

I’m hoping that April will be a better month; however, with my dog still in recovery, I don’t know how much I will get done. As such, I am keeping my goals limited.

Read at least 5 books

I am knocking down my reading goal to 5 books this month, but who knows, maybe I will get to more than this. My April TBR is filled with library books and some ARCs.

Prep the garden area

I have some of this done already, however, I need to get a few areas ready to plant, and that will be my focus. If I have some extra time, I may plant a few more seeds in seed trays to get a headstart on the garden season.

Watch at least 1 season of a show & 1 movie

A very loose goal, but it would be nice to tackle some of my to-watch list.

Post once a week on the blog

One post a week feels manageable at the moment. If I get more than that done, then that’s a pure bonus.

Reply to comments within 72 hours

As before, ideally, I would like to reply to comments within 24 hours. However, I am being realistic and aiming to get to them within 72 hours.

I hope you enjoyed my April 2025 goals. What goals have you set for the month?

  1. Yikes, sorry to hear about your dog! What a scary situation. Hope she’s recovering well and that you’re able to focus a bit more on your goals.

  2. I like how you set a goal of reading a certain number of books per month. This inspires me to do the same! You have a good practice of setting and sharing goals each month.

    1. Author

Thank you. I find this is the best way to approach my reading goals and everything else I want to accomplish in a month. Good luck with setting your own reading goals, I hope it works out for you.
