August was a bad month for me. Well no that’s a bit of a lie. I was bad with the number of books that I bought but at the same time I found so many I had been looking for for quite some time now and a few chance finds as well. This led to an enormous stack of books coming home with us from vacation, but at the same time I got the see some amazing used book stores this month (I will be doing some feature posts on these in the future) and hey it was vacation so I was allowed to go overboard. Or you could say my husband let me go overboard.
Alright enough delaying, let’s get to the books. Like I mentioned above I found a lot of books that have been on my to buy list for a long time. Some of these books fill in gaps in series I have wanted to read but have been missing some books within them. Others I just happened to find and either had planned to buy them at some point or just couldn’t turn down the amazing deal on them.
I ended up visiting five used book stores during my vacation, some were downright amazing, others were okay but overall I came home with eighty-two books. I know, that’s a huge amount but once I started finding them it was a domino effect and the next thing you know nearly all the books on my list were scratched off. How often does that happen? I still need to put all these books away, which first requires me to built a new book shelf, but I am so excited to have all of these books and can’t wait to dive into them.
I know this is probably a silly thing to say, but I am going to try real hard to bot buy anymore books this year. Now I have pre-order some books recently that come out over the next month or two, so there will be some books coming into the house. But my goal is to not order anymore and save any book purchases I want so that my husband can get them for me for Christmas.
