August 2023 Goals & July review

August is here. Another month of 2023 has come and gone and we are quickly approaching the end of the year. It’s hard to believe that we are at the peak of summer and soon fall will be in the air. Though summer is slipping away, there is still plenty of time to get out there and have fun. August will likely be a busy month, especially with the garden, as this is when most plants start to produce in earnest. Because of this, I will be keeping my goals relatively light so I am free to deal with the harvest as it comes in. Before we get into my August 2023 goals, I would like to take a moment to go over how I did with my July goals.

July review

July was a decent month. I didn’t set too many goals but I did pretty well with them.

  • Read at least 5 books. Yes. This almost didn’t happen, as I found little time to read for most of the month. However, in the end, I read several books. See what I read in July.
  • Clear out my Crunchyroll to-watch list. Once again, I failed at this. I never got around to sitting down and watching anything.
  • Weed the garden. Yes, though I will give most of the credit to my husband, as he did most of that.
  • Clean the shed. Yes. I would say it’s 90% done, as a few items that are regularly used haven’t been cleaned or put away but that will come in time.

  • Start posting regularly. Yes, I was able to keep up with posting once a week.
  • Work on updating old posts. I lost track of how many old posts I updated over the course of the month but needless to say, I would call this one successful.

August 2023 goals

August is going to be heavy on blog work. There are a number of blog-related tasks I have been putting off, but this is the month I will finally be doing them.

  • Read at least 5 books. My regular monthly goal of reading at least 5 books will remain as always. I have a pile of books picked out to choose from that I am excited to get to.
  • Clear out my Crunchyroll to-watch list. I really hope that I can find time this month to watch something, I have such a backlog in my to-watch list it’s going to take years to get through it all.
  • Weed the garden. Weeds are a constant problem in the garden and I am going to work this month to keep up with them.
  • Harvest the garden. There won’t be a ton of harvest this month, but whatever can be harvested I want to get to it in a timely manner. This will mostly be herbs and greens.

  • Start posting regularly. I got a good start on this in July and hope to continue it throughout August.
  • Work on updating old posts. This will be a long-term goal as I have a ton of posts that need updating. My goal is to get at least 5 done a week.
  • Create pin images. I need to make pin images for 99% of my blog posts. So, this month, I will be working on starting that process.
  • Work out September’s post schedule. I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants the last few months when it comes to a posting schedule. But I’d like to work out next month’s schedule ahead of time.
  • Reply to comments in a timely manner. I want to try to reply to any new comments within 72 hours instead of a week or more like I have been.

Those are my August 2023 goals. What goals have you set this month?

  1. I like how you kept everything simple. Sometimes we feel we have to fill up a page in order to be productive. The we don’t we just need the foundation in order to get started.

  2. I need to do better with planning out my goals. Thanks for the encouragement!
