August is here, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it’s already the eighth month of 2025. Summer is at its height, but autumn is not far away. With the heat, which I cannot handle, a lot of my August 2025 goals are focused on tasks I can accomplish inside the house. Before we get into this month’s goals, I want to take a moment and go over how I did with July’s goals.
July Review
July was a decent month. I can’t say I was the most productive, but I got some things done, so I’m happy.
Read at least 5 books
Yes, it took the entire month, but I managed to do it. Here’s what I read in July.
Finish setting up the garden
Unfortunately, I did not get the gate built, which was the one task I wanted to do.
Watch at least 1 season of a show & 1 movie
Yes. I watched 1 season of All Creatures Great & Small. For the movie, I watched Hostiles.
Post once a week on the blog
Yes. I did get one post done per week.
Work on blog redesign
I didn’t get as much done towards this as I had hoped, but a little bit is better than nothing.
Reply to comments within 72 hours
Not quite. I didn’t get around to some comments for a week.
August 2025 Goals
August is likely to be the hottest month of the year, and that means I will be spending much of the month hiding inside from the heat. However, this creates the perfect conditions for knocking out a lot of blog work and tackling my unread books.
Read 5 books
Five books should be manageable, and I made sure to only put 5 books on my August TBR.
Build a garden gate
The raspberry patch still needs a gate made. However, I am setting this as a very loose goal because I know August will be a hot month, and I will not be outside working on projects in the heat.
Watch at least 1 season of a show & 1 movie
This is less of a goal and more of a fun task if I have time for it.
Post once a week on the blog
One post a week feels manageable at the moment. If I get more than that done, then that’s a pure bonus.
Work on blog redesign
This is one of my big 2025 goals, and I haven’t gotten as far into it as I had hoped. So, I will be putting a lot of my attention towards this.
Work on the backlog of reviews
There are a ton of reviews in my backlog that I need to work on. This is where much of my time will be spent this month. The reviews are all in rough draft form, so they need to be fleshed out and then scheduled.
Reply to comments within 72 hours
As before, ideally, I would like to reply to comments within 24 hours. However, I am being realistic and aiming to get to them within 72 hours.

That’s so cool that you have a raspberry patch! I would have those in my yogurt every day.
It’s a great addition to the garden and we should be swimming in raspberries next summer. Oh, raspberries on yogurt, yum!
