Gifts for introverts
Gifts that keep us cozy
Introverts are natural homebodies. Not only do we like being in our home, but the most important thing is also we like to be comfortable. That’s why cozy items are the perfect gift for us.
We like nothing more than curling up with a warm blanket and picking up a good book or perhaps throwing on a movie or three. Even if your introverted friend already has a blanket they may crave more. One for every room in their home, season, or fandom they love.
Candles, wax melts, and incense sticks will help our home smell wonderful. After all, we are spending most of our time inside, so having wonderful smells to enjoy makes our day brighter. Find out what their favorite scents are and buy them a few. Or, give them something unique to try.
For the introvert who is always cold, consider getting them a pair of fingerless gloves, so they can game or read and keep their hands warm. Or a collection of their favorite teas, coffee, or hot chocolate. Don’t forget to include a fun mug as well.
Gifts to keep us entertained
Like everyone else, we love to be entertained. Whether it’s books, movies, or video games, introverts are keen to keep themselves busy during the many hours we are tucked happily in our homes.
This one may be a bit tricky, as you will need to know what game systems they own and thus what games they already have. But a bit of sleuthing will tell you what game they may be dying to get their hands on. Or if you are super generous, you may even be buying them a new console, like the PlayStation 5. Board games are another great option, although they do require other people to play. Sometimes we don’t mind having others around. A head-to-head game of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots or Battleship is always fun.
The same applies to books. Your introverted friend may already own hundreds of books, though they likely haven’t read most of them. Find out what genres they love, who their favorite authors are, and what books they may be missing from a series.
Not sure what books to get them? For cozy mystery lovers, there’s the Murder, She Wrote books. If they are into fantasy series, I recommend checking out the Green Rider series. Are they interested in manga? You can’t go wrong with Erased or A Bride’s Story.
Another way to help us pass the time and keep our minds busy is with adult coloring books. There are so many to choose from that you should be able to find something that your introvert would love. There’s even one that is all rhinos. Rhinos! Could a rhino-loving person ask for anything more? Well, an actual rhino would be awesome but also highly impossible.
Gifts to grow
Plants are a great friend of introverts. They are there when we need to talk to someone and when we want to be alone…well, they are still there, but they won’t bother us! That’s why plants and plant accessories make excellent gifts for introverts.
Do they love to garden? Consider getting them seeds, garden tools, or accessories. I highly recommend a Hori-Hori knife. I got one this year and it has been my favorite garden tool ever since. I always have it within reach whenever I am in the garden. Perhaps a nice decorative sign for their garden or a lawn gnome. They will certainly appreciate something to add to their garden.
Another great option is a growing kit. There are tons of options out there. A Bonsai kit would be great for those who are looking to expand their indoor garden. Or if you want to go all out, get them an AeroGarden so they can grow herbs and other plants year-round.
While not a plant, items like crystal growing kits are also fantastic. They still grow and may be better suited for those who lack a green thumb but still enjoy watching things develop.
Gifts for the crafty
Introverts may have a lot of time on their hands. Of course, they can also be insanely busy and like to unwind by making items. So, craft supplies are a great way to go.
Do they crochet or knit? Then buy them a few skeins of yarn. You could even go all out and buy them some handspun wool so they can make a warm comfy scarf to wear. Just make sure they aren’t allergic to wool first.
Maybe they love the idea of wood carving but haven’t taken the leap into it. In that case, buy them a wood carving set.
Find something that allows them to create and build. We love to keep busy while tucked away in our room.
Gifts that let us explore (from the safety of our home, of course)
There are a number of ways to allow us to explore the world from our home. Subscription services are a big one. We all know about streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, which allow us to watch movies and shows from around the world. Find out if there is a streaming service they want a subscription to and get them a few months or even a year’s worth.
What other ways can we experience the world? Subscription boxes! There are a ton of subscription boxes that cover every interest out there. From books to crafts, teas, beauty products, and more. There is something for everyone. My personal favorite is Bokksu, which is filled with traditional Japanese snacks. Use my referral code to get $10 off your first box!
Another great option is items that allow us to explore our interests. Does your introverted cousin want to learn about coding? Then buy them a course on it! They will greatly appreciate being able to learn a new skill.
A lot of people think giving a gift card is impersonal and that the one receiving it won’t be happy. This isn’t true! Gift cards allow the giftee to choose what they want. If you are trying to get something for a hard-to-buy person, then gift cards are the way to go. Let us do the shopping, online of course because stores can be full of people which we find tiring. With gift cards for just about every store or service out there, you can easily find something that is perfect for your introvert’s needs.
