It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #18

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

Reviews Posted Last Week:
The Pet by Charles Grant

Well last week was another slow reading week, as in I didn’t finish a single book. As disappointing as this was I have a good reason as to why this happened. My son has been growing more and more interested in books over the last couple of weeks and last week he wanted to read from the moment he got home from school to the moment he went to bed. Since I want to encourage his reading and love of books I put my own reading aside to both read to him and sit there while he read to me. So while I did not get any of my own books done I am very happy with his progress in reading and will always put his reading over my own.

Books Worked On Last Week:

I did start and get a decent chunk of Shadow On The Crown read last week. I still have a bit to go on it but I am enjoying it so far. I love Historical Fiction even though I often find them to be quite slow to read. Hoping to finish this one later this week.

The Quick And The Dead has been on my to read list for a while now and so I picked this one up and started working on it Friday. However I ended up spending most of the day at a class field trip with my son so didn’t get very far. I will be working on finishing this one as well. This is my first Louis L’Amour book and I’m looking forward to reading more of his works in the future.

What I Plan To Read This Week:

Firstly I want to finish the two books I have started already. I don’t like picking up new books while I have unfinished books clawing for my attention as well. With it being March break I’m not sure how much reading time I will have this week. I’m not sure what I want to read next as often my choice changes over the course of the week but one book I’ve had my eye on for a while is Albert of Adelaide. It’s a book about a platypus, that was enough for me to want to read it. So that may be my next read or I may pick up something else.

What have you read recently? Were they as good as you had hoped or just alright? What books do you plan to read this week?
