It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!
Reviews Posted Last Week:
Zombie Galaxy: Outbreak by Scott Reeves
The Time of The Wolf by James Wilde
Books I Read Last Week:
The Quick And The Dead was a great western novel that I read after having watched the movie some time ago. While the book is quite a bit different from the movie I enjoyed it a lot and will be looking to read more books by Louis L’Amour in the future.
I listened to the audiobook version of this book and while it was good I can’t say that it stood out as amazing. It had an interesting twist on the zombie genre but I don’t think it will persuade me to run out and read a bunch more zombie books. There is a sequel coming out to this book and I’m not sure if I will read it or not.
I was in the mood for another Historical Fiction book even though they are slow reads for me. I was pleasantly surprised by this book even if it took me a while to read simply because of it’s violent story line. I will be reading the sequel in the future for sure.
I listened to the audiobook version of this one and it was alright. The narrators voice bored me a bit and it made my attention wander from the book. However I quite enjoyed the book I think I might watch the movie version of this at some point to see who they adapted the story to the screen.
What I Plan To Read This Week:
I can’t quite explain why I want to read this book, it could be good or it could be really bad, but I think this is just the kind of book I need to read this week. I’m hoping it will at least be somewhat good since there are a number of positive reviews about it.
I really need to get to this one, especially since I’ve had it for close to a month already. A friend of mine lent this to me and while she said to take my time I really feel bad I’ve had it this long and haven’t even started it yet. I’ve heard such good things about this one that I need to make the time to read this book already.
What have you read recently? Were they as good as you had hoped or just alright? What books do you plan to read this week?
