It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #32

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

Reviews Posted Last Week:
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Eternal Pleasure by Nina Bangs
Blood of the King by Bruce Blake

I had another light reading week last week. There was plenty of other things keeping me busy and when I did have time it was spent reading a single book for the majority of the week. I’m planning to have a much better reading week this time around.

What Did I Read Last Week:

Well I can’t really say much about this book as most of my opinions on it we given in the review, which is linked above. I will say that I was hoping to enjoy the book, as it had sounded good by the description, however not only did it take me nearly a full week to read it I also found the book lacking in a number of ways. Click the link above to check out my full review and see why this book didn’t live up to my expectations.

I received a copy of The Other Side of Death to review from Audio Jukebox and was looking forward to listening to it. This was a fairly good book and while I did have a few issues with some of the storyline I overall enjoyed it. I’ll be posting a full review of this book later this week.

What I Plan To Read This Week:

Not only have I been wanting to read The Raven Boys for quite some time now but I need to return the book to the library tomorrow. So my top priority this week is to get through this book, hopefully I can finish it today, if not I just need to get it done before the library closes tomorrow. I’ve heard lots of good things about this book and I’m really looking forward to finally getting to read it.

After reading several of the other books in the series I was happy to receive a copy of The Loner for review. I have both enjoyed and disliked the other books in this series so I’m not sure what to expect from this one. I’m hoping I will enjoy it, but either way I’m happy to have it in my hands and to see this series continue as it did start out solidly among the first few books that I read. I’ll say one thing, I am not a fan of the cover, hopefully it does not reflect what is to be found inside.

I really loved the previous book in the King’s Quest series and now that I finally have my copy of Kingdom of Sorrow I want to get to it. The world of Daventry is in trouble again and this time it is King Graham who is coming to it’s rescue. I’m really looking forward to reading this one and if I have time I may read the third and final book in this series as well.

What have you read recently? Were they as good as you had hoped or just alright? What books do you plan to read this week?
