It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #33

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

Reviews Posted Last Week:
The Other Side of Death by Judith Van Gieson
World War Z by Max Brooks

I had another slow reading week last week. While I had every intention of getting through a number of books I didn’t get very far in that plan. With it being the second last week of school there were a number of activities to attend, final soccer games to get my son to, the house to clean and some major shopping to do as well. Then I ended up being away from the house for a day and a half, a trip that only should have been a few hours long, and didn’t have the time to do any reading as a large portion of that time was taken up with driving and other activities that didn’t allow me to hold a book, and silly me didn’t bring any audiobooks. I really hope I can get back into the swing of full on reading this week, especially before school ends Wednesday.

What I Read Last Week:

Nothing! Well at least I didn’t finish anything. I made some progress on a few books but didn’t get the chance to put enough reading time in to finish anything. This is the first time in a long time that I haven’t finished a single book in a week.

What I Plan To Read This Week:

This week I want to finish a number of the books I have started but haven’t had time to finish. I have quite a few book sitting on my shelf that are partially read, though a few of these take priority over others, meaning personal reads are put on the back burner over review books. That being said, the first one I plan to finish is The Loner. I’m about halfway done with this book and quite enjoying it so far. Next up is The Raven Boys. Originally borrowed this one from the library, failed to finish it on time, returned it late and ended up buying my own copy of it this weekend. Another book I want to finish is Scent of Magic. I was really enjoying this one when I set it aside to read something else and just haven’t picked it up again. After these books are finished I will see what else remains of my to be finished pile as well as my review books and decide what to read next based on those.

What have you read recently? Were they as good as you had hoped or just alright? What books do you plan to read this week?
