It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #43

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must-read” book! This week, in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #43, I’ll be going over what I recently read from my TBR and my reading plans for the week ahead.

What I Read Last Week:

Thanks to my husband and son I have a growing love of Transformers over the last few years. So when I saw the graphic novel Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters Vol. 1 for review I thought I would check it out. There’s not much I can say about it that I didn’t say in my review. It was okay but the Dinobots were all wrong in it and that overall ruined my experience. To read my full review click on the link above.

I requested The Returned on a whim. The cover was fairly interesting and then once I read the synopsis I definitely wanted to read it to see how it was. It sounded like a really interesting concept, the dead coming back to life as they were before they died. And with all the positive reviews that I have seen on this recently, I figured it would be really good. The book was okay but seemed to be missing something overall. I will be posting a review of this one later in the week.

I read the first book in this series a few months back and was excited to see get my hands on Geek Girls Don’t Date Dukes. This was a quick read but wasn’t quite as good as the first. I’ll be posting a full review of this book later in the week.

What I Plan To Read This Week:

This week I will be fairly busy with school starting for the boy and a few other things on my plate. So I likely won’t have a lot of reading time. At the bare minimum, I would like to read Razor’s Edge. This book sounds like it will be really good and of course, I can’t say no to a Star Wars novel. If I happen to get through this one quickly enough and have some extra free time around my busy schedule I may pick up something else as well.

What have you read recently? Were they as good as you had hoped or just alright? What books do you plan to read this week?
