It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? #50

It’s Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It’s also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

Reviews Posted Last Week:
Bullying Under Attack by Various Authors
Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder

What I Read Last Week:

I started Scent of Magic a number of months ago and while I had been enjoying it set it down for some reason and it remained that way until last week. Once I picked it up again I quickly became devoured by the story and before I knew it I was at the end. For a full review of this book please click the link above.

Tangled Tides is a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while now and when I decided to read something other than a review book this was the one I turned to. I really enjoyed this story and gobbled it up page after page. Now I just need to wait until the next book in the series comes out in November. I’ll be posting a full review of this book next week.

I decided to knock out another non-review book over the weekend and in doing so picked up and read Little Fuzzy. I initially wasn’t sure what to expect out of this story though it seemed to have a fairly interesting synopsis. I read through this one quick quickly and found myself more interested in the story than I thought I would be at the beginning. I’ll be posting a full review of this book next month.

Freak of Nature came next. This is a book I got for review and decided it was a good time to read it during Dewey’s 24-hour read-a-thon on Saturday. While I breezed through this book fairly quickly it didn’t grab me like I thought it would. The story was okay as were the characters but something about it was missing to make it special. I’ll be posting a full review of this book next month.

The Time Machine is a book I’ve been meaning to read for a while. As a fan of the science fiction genre I have barely touched any of the classics of this wide spectrum of books. Since I had it sitting on a pile beside my desk I picked it up. It took me a bit to get through this one but it was decently enjoyable. I will be posting a full review of this book next month.

What I Plan To Read Next Week:

I think the next book I will read is Me And Murder, She Wrote. I’ve recently been re-watching the series over the last couple months and have truly been enjoying it. So what better book to read than the autobiography of the man who helped create the show? While I’m not big on biographies I think I will enjoy this one.

I will also be trying to finish up Bellman & Black. I had hoped to finish this one last week but it’s turning out to be a slow read that I keep putting down in favor of reading something else. I will try to finish this one before picking up something else for the remainder of the week.

What have you read recently? Were they as good as you had hoped or just alright? What books do you plan to read this week?
