July 2023 goals & June review

With July’s arrival, we are officially in the second half of 2023. This year seems to be flying by – as most years tend to do. July is usually a busy month for keeping up with the garden, especially weeding and watering. Despite this, I am planning to get as many other things done as possible over the month. Setting monthly goals helps me keep focused on what needs to get done and I always make sure to throw in a fun goal as well. Before I get into my July 2023 goals, I’d like to take a moment to go over how I did with my June goals.

June review

June was a bit of a chaotic month. At the end of May, we got a new puppy and she takes up much of my time at the moment. Even so, I feel like I did good with my goals over the month and got the most important things done – that being planting the garden.

  • Read at least 5 books. Yes, I hit exactly that goal. See what books I read in June.
  • Clear out my Crunchyroll to-watch list. I once again failed to find any time this month to watch any of the shows on my Crunchyroll list.
  • Plant the garden. Yes! I have the garden 100% planted and it’s doing well.
  • Clean the shed. Not even close. In fact, once again I feel like it got worse as the month went on.
  • Fence the new garden. Yes. A couple of short t-posts and a roll of chicken wire made this project go by quickly and now the puppy can’t get into this area.
  • Clean our winter gear. Yes. All of the coats, boats, and other winter gear have been washed and stored.

July 2023 goals

July is likely to be another busy month. Between the garden, the new puppy, and catching up on a few other things, I am going to go light this month with the goals.

  • Read at least 5 books. My regular monthly goal of reading at least 5 books will remain as always. I have a pile of books picked out to choose from that I am excited to get to.
  • Clear out my Crunchyroll to-watch list. Once again, I will be attempting to watch at least 1 season of a show from my to-watch list this month.
  • Weed the garden. Now that it’s all planted, the big job will be keeping up with the weeds.
  • Clean the shed. The third time is the charm, right? I really need to get this job done this month because everything is so chaotic in the shed that we can barely get into it.

  • Start posting regularly. I have been absolutely slacking on blog work lately, continually back-dating posts to make it look like I have been keeping up with things. However, this month I want to actually post once a week..
  • Work on updating old posts. Even if I can get only one old post updated, I will be happy.

Those are my July 2023 goals. What goals have you set this month?
