June 2024 Book Haul

As a lover and reader of books, I’m always on the lookout for new books to pick up and read. Sometimes I buy them, other times, I borrow them from the library. This month, I went pretty heavy on book purchases. However, June is my birthday month, so I decided to treat myself to a number of books I have been wanting to pick up for a while. This means I added quite a few books to my TBR this month. Without further ado, here is my June 2024 Book Haul.

Forerunner by T. S. Pedramon

But life on the island is not as idyllic as it first seems. Gran has a tempestuous relationship with her landlord and he’s threatening to take the bookshop away from her. So when Gran asks Evie to fake date her landlord’s Greek God of a grandson, Georgios, to keep the family on side, she reluctantly agrees.

Will Dojo’s prickly insistence on sticking to the rules ruin their budding friendship?

Library Wars: Love & War Vol 4 by Kiiro Yumi

Iku and Commander Inamine are abducted by Bakushu-kai terrorists, who demand sensitive material from the library’s protected collection in return for the hostages! Dojo is worried about Iku, his problem student with limited field experience. But what Iku lacks in training she more than makes up for in gumption, and she is not going to let library material go without a fight!

Library Wars: Love & War Vol 7 by Kiiro Yumi

Hikaru’s big brother is working for the enemy, and he wants to reunite with Hikaru. Meanwhile, someone is posting negative reviews on the library’s website, and Kasahara intends to find out who. Later, personal issues are set aside when the Library Forces find out about a book burning on their home turf!

Library Wars: Love & War Vol 9 by Kiiro Yumi

There’s a groper in the library and Library Force members Iku and Shibazaki are sent in as bait! Iku’s undercover outfit makes her vulnerable…will she be able to defend herself if the pervert targets her? Later, Library Force members are required to take a test that involves reading stories to a group of rambunctious schoolkids. Coming from a big, unruly family, Iku definitely has the upper hand!

Library Wars: Love & War Vol 11 by Kiiro Yumi

Fighting censorship at her hometown art museum, Iku Kasahara and her fellow Library Forces team members are involved in a fierce skirmish in which several ranking officers are severely injured. The damage is far reaching, causing a rift in the Library Forces management that makes Iku question her place in the organization. In the midst of this controversy, Iku’s relationship with her direct supervisor, Dojo, grows more intimate when a long-discussed tea-date begins to sound more like a romantic liaison!

The Media Betterment Committee has silenced a famous writer, and Library Forces member Iku Kasahara and her supervisor and secret crush, Dojo, must fight to protect his right to speak…and live! As the Library Forces wage a fierce battle against censorship, Iku and Dojo’s burgeoning relationship provides the team with a welcome distraction, and—unfortunately for them—some comic relief!

The Library Forces have decided that a censored author, Toma, must defect. But as he and the LF attempt to leave the courthouse, the roads are blocked by Media Betterment Committee troops!

Library Forces member Iku Kasahara and her sergeant (and secret crush) Dojo make off in another direction with Toma. But when Dojo is injured in the escape attempt, Iku is charged with protecting both the endangered author and the man she loves!

Library Wars: Love & War Vol 15 by Kiiro Yumi

The war between the Library Forces and the government’s censorship committee heats up! Iku Kasahara, once a lowly Library Forces recruit, is now a high-profile militia member, undercover and off the radar as she accompanies a censored author to a foreign embassy. All the while, her mentor and secret love Dojo is recovering from a gunshot wound. The last time she saw Dojo, Iku vowed to tell him her true feelings, but now she’s not sure she can go through with it. Are Iku and Dojo destined to be together, or will the battle for books tear them apart?

The Secret of Friendship by Kazune Kawahara

Eiko and her best friend Moe couldn’t be more different. While Eiko is a shy, average-looking girl, Moe is beautiful and constantly gets attention from guys.   1. Woah!!! So many awesome books. But the first and second one caught my attention. I’m a big fan of unicorns. And Santorini is in my bucket list. I so going to check out those two books. Thank you for sharing.

  2. I am guilty of adding waaaay too many books to my TBR list than crossing them off! That being said, it looks like I need to add Summer at the Santorini Bookshop to the list. Thank you for sharing!

      It’s certainly a problem most book lovers have, but it also means we will never run out of things to read. I hope you enjoy it when you do get around to reading it.
