March 2013 Book Haul

I bought SO many books this month, pretty much to the point of breaking my bank account. I don’t work so I’m very limited on book funds and I pushed the limit this month with all that I bought. I might have had a lot more books this month however since the trip to the used book store got postponed by two weeks those books that I would have gotten then will be acquired and shown off in April.

First up is a group of books some of which my husband bought me while he was down in Toronto for a training course and some I ordered online.

From Toronto I got Howl’s Moving Castle, Castle In The Air and Lord of the Flies. I had send a huge list of books to buy with my husband but these were the only ones he managed, perhaps was willing, to buy. From Amazong I ordered House of Many Ways in order to finish off the series. From the bargain book section I got Shadowspell (which I found out after the fact is the second in a series), The Foretelling, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Darkwitch Rising and Druid’s Sword. The last two finishing off a series I’ve wanted to read but couldn’t find two of books for the longest time.

Next up were books I ordered from Book Depository. I’ve known about this site for some time now but only this month did I finally get around to ordering from them. While the shipping time is a lot slower compared to Amazon I found their prices were cheaper on nearly everything and they have free shipping no matter how big or small your purchases are. From here I got the Complete Anne of Green Gables series, which I have wanted for quite some time, Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Scorpio Races. Now I already own The Scorpio Races as an e-book and as an audiobook but I just could not resist the beautiful cover for the paperback version so I had to get it.

In total that is nineteen newly acquired books. This is far from helping my to read pile shrink at all but I am happy with each and every one of these purchases and look forward to when I will be reading them. I did get a few e-books as well this month however I can’t quite remember which ones they were since my Kindle keeps deciding to jumble the order of my books.

What books did you buy or receive this month? Have you had a chance to read them yet and if so what did you think of them?
