Top Ten Tuesday: Most Recent Additions to My Bookshelf

Part of being a reader is looking for new books and authors to read. Of course, this can also quickly turn into an overwhelming large TBR. However, with the right balance of buying and reading, a reader can keep up with their TBR. I absolutely love sharing books that I have bought, and especially those that I have read. Seeing what others have recently bought is also great, as it gives me new books to add to the TBR. That’s where Top Ten Tuesday comes in. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly bookish post run by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic: most recent additions to my bookshelf.

I haven’t bought any books since October, so there aren’t many recent additions to my bookshelf. Though I did get gifted a few books over the holidays. So, I will share those books that came into the house recently and include some pre-orders that will be coming in the next month or so.

Most recent additions to my bookshelf

Books purchased or gifted

  • Kini ni Todoke Vol 1-30 by Karuho Shiina
  • Komi Can’t Communicate Vol 3 & 4 by Tomohito Oda
  • Big Mushy Happy Lump by Sarah Andersen
  • Silver Spoon Vol 1 & 2 by Hiromu Arakawa

Books Preordered

  • Yona of the Dawn Vol 22 by Mizuho Kusanagi
  • Komi Can’t Communicate Vol 5 by Tomohito Oda
  • Weathering With You by Makoto Shinkai

Those are the most recent additions to my bookshelf. Some haven’t arrived yet, due to being pre-orders but I am trying to limit the number of books that I buy. After all, I’ve been making good progress with my giant TBR, so I don’t want it to grow instead of shrink.

    1. Thank you, I’ve read a few and really enjoyed them.

  1. That’s a lot of new books! But I like getting multiples of an established series at once because I always hate finishing one and not being able to immediately start the next if I really enjoy it. hope all of these turns out to be awesome for you!

    1. It is. That’s really the way to do it, buy as many of the books in a series as you can so that you can immediately jump from one to the other. Thanks, I’ve read some and really enjoyed them, now I just need to wait for the rest to arrive so I can read those.

  2. Holy cow: 30 BOOKS from one series. That is awesome, though. What will you do with them afterward? Keep, donate, or pass on?

OMG, my TBR just got SO much bigger. Last night, I went through Goodreads and went wild. Call it a clicking spree. I just started The Caroline Paintings, sent to me by Arthur Hittner (indie).

    1. For a manga series, it’s actually not super long. There are manga series out there that have over 100 volumes. That series I am keeping because I absolutely love it.

I have to avoid Goodreads because I will do that as well. But hey, I suppose doing it through Goodreads is better than going on a spending spree to get those books.

  3. I’ve not heard of Top Ten Tuesday but I like that it makes you think about what you’ve acquired recently. I guess it makes you more accountable to your TBR pile too, haha!

    1. It’s been around for a few years now but unless you are chest-deep in the boo blogging community it’s easy to have missed it. Yeah, it for sure makes me think of my current and future TBR more when I have to go an list all my recent purchases.

  4. Good luck to you getting all these books read! Sounds like a lot of fun!

    1. Thank you. I’ve read some of them already, so I’m happy about that.

    1. Thank you, I’m sure that I will.
