The fourth week of NaNoWriMo has come to an end. This is the point where writers are either casually cruising toward the finish line or frantically typing for all their worth in an attempt to come close. The word count goal total for this week is 45,009. That is certainly a lot of words, however, it’s also deliciously close to the end. Soon, we writers can let out a sigh of relief and give our keyboards a well-deserved rest – at least until our characters and plot demand our attention once more. The third week of NaNoWriMo has come to an end. By the end of this week, writers should have reached a word count of 33340 words. That is assuming that they have stayed on track the entire time. Some writers may be ahead, others behind, and then there are those who will be perfectly on track. Now that we are past the halfway point, the finish line is starting the steadily creep up. The second week of NaNoWriMo has come to an end. By now, many writers have fallen into a steady flow of words, watching their beloved idea come to life before their eyes. Others may be wallowing in despair as their word count is well below where it needs to be. November ushers in the month-long writing challenge NaNoWriMo. It is a challenge where writers around the world attempt to write 50,000 words in 30 days. Every year I look forward to this writing challenge. It is a chance to sit and write without worrying too much about perfection. Camp NaNoWriMo has come to an end! The final week is often a chaotic rush to reach the word count goal and see your story through its final few chapters. Since I had hit the 50,000-word mark last week, anything I wrote in these final few days was a pure bonus. I honestly love when I can go past the goal and get extra words written. It means that the novel draft is that much closer to being done. There are just six days left of this month-long writing challenge to write an entire novel in 30 days. At this point, writers should be closing in on the 40000-word mark. Did you know that April is Camp NaNoWriMo month? This bi-yearly month-long writing challenge occurs in April and July. Camp NaNoWriMo allows you to set your own word count goal. You can write as many words as you want. For this time around, I decided to stick with the classic word count of 50,000 words. With the arrival of December, writers around the world can let out a collective sigh of relief that they survived another NaNoWriMo. Whether you managed to hit that 50000 word count goal or came up shy, go ahead and give yourself a round of applause.
