Six years ago, I made it my mission to read every book that I own. Being a book lover, it’s easy to accumulate books faster than they can be read. However, after setting up this challenge, I have managed to make a huge dent in my large TBR. Every year, I go over each bookshelf and share how many of the books I have read. Any book that is still unread gets removed from the shelf after the initial photo and placed in a pile, then a second picture is taken of the shelf showing it without those books, and the unread books are then shown.
TBR Update: Year Six
The favorites shelf
This shelf houses some of my favorite series. There is a bit of room to add more books to this shelf, however, I usually have some figures and other decorations on this shelf – I merely took them off for the picture.
I have read all of these books.

The read shelf #1
Another self full fo read books. A few more favorite series can be found on this shelf.

The read shelf #2
This shelf has a bit of a chaotic look and feel to it. However, it makes sense to me and that’s what matters.
There is a surprising amount of space available on this shelf for more books.

The TBR shelf
As the name suggests, this shelf holds all of my unread books. Having all of my unread books on a single bookcase makes my reading experience so much easier. I no longer need to scour all of my shelves in search of a book to read.
There are a couple of previously read books on this shelf. They are books I plan to reread before continuing with the series so that I have the story fresh in my head before getting to the unread books.

Now, to remove all of the unread books.

As you can see, not many books remain on the shelf once all of the unread books have been removed.

Unread pile #1. As one would expect, there are a lot of unread books to show off. This is the first pile, which mostly consists of manga.

Unread pile #2. This one is a mix of manga, light novels, and fantasy novels.

Unread pile #3. This final pile is a mix of manga and fantasy novels.
As you can see, there is still work to do with my physical TBR. However, knowing that they all fit on a single bookcase feels wonderful. In total, I have 151 unread books – which is slightly more than I had a year ago. I look forward to seeing the progress I make with this in the next 12 months.
I hope you enjoyed this TBR update: year six. Have you been working through your TBR?

That is loads of book. Well done. I try to read a bit but there is no time for it.
It is a lot of books but reading is my biggest passion and hobby. Finding time to read can be a challenge but any bit of reading you can squeeze in is great in my opinion.
This is incredible. I love to read and wish I had more time to read all the books I love. Congratulations on putting a dent in your reading list.
Thank you. I know it can be hard time find time to read but here’s hoping you find some more time to enjoy your books.
Well done for reading all those books, I love reading but find I don’t have much time to get through all the books I start.
Thank you. Finding time to read is a common problem with a lot of people, it can be done but you need to find the right way to make it work for you. Hopefully you can do that and enjoy some good books.
