Top Ten Tuesday: 2015 Resolutions

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week is the op Ten Resolutions We Have For 2015 (can be bookish, personal resolutions, “I resolve to finally read these 10 books, series I resolve to finish in 2015, etc.)

I usually suck at sticking to any resolutions that I make, but I am going to try really hard to stick to as many of these as I can this year.

Bookish/Blogging Resolutions

  1. Read More Dusty Books. I have books that have been on my shelf for 10+ years that I haven’t read yet. My hope is to get through a bunch of them this year.
  2. Finish Some Series. I have way too many series on the go, so a lot of my reading focus this year will be placed on finishing off several series.
  3. Purge The Shelves. I actually did a bit of this before the new year. I want to get rid of some books (a disturbing thought, I know), so as I read books I will be deciding whether it’s worth it to keep them or not.
  4. Keep Up With My Blog. I really let my blog slide last year. Started off strong and then much like my reading it trickled to almost nothing. This year I want to keep up with my posts better and try to stick to my old posting schedule.

Non-Bookish Resolutions

  1. Write More. I love to write, but I rarely make time for it. I would like to write some every day, whether it’s a few sentences in a journal or a few paragraphs on the many novel ideas that I have. I just want to write more.
  2. Exercise Regularly. I do good with exercise in the summer, since I’m outside plenty. But in the winter I’m pretty stationary. I want to try to exercise more regularly, but do so gently as well since I have two bad knees and a permanently messed up ankle that doesn’t like me doing things to it.
  3. Purge The House. We have a lot of stuff in this house, and I’d like to get rid of a lot of it. I plan on going through everything, and either selling or donating what we don’t need. It will be a big project, but will pay off in the end.
  4. Watch TV Shows. Sounds like a weird one, but I have several series on DVD that I have yet to watch. So it would be nice to get around to that and then either keep those DVDs or get rid of them as part of the house purge resolution.
  5. Give Up Pop (Again). Last year I decided to give up pop and I did, and I felt great. I did have the odd one but it was quite rare, but November hit, life got hectic and I got back into the habit of drinking it. So I am giving it up again, only drinking it on special occasions (like dinner at a restaurant).
