January 2024 goals & December review

January is the start of a new year and gives us the opportunity to start fresh or continue what we built in the previous year. Setting monthly goals has become a large part of my life and helps to keep me focused on what needs to get done. Before we go over my January 2024 goals, let’s take a moment to see how I did with my December goals.

December review

I went easy with my December goals so I could focus on enjoying the holidays. A lot of the month was spent doing blog work, which was also the main focus of my goals and I am happy with how much I got done.

  • Read at least 5 books. Yes, I did quite a bit of reading in December.
  • Study Japanese. I didn’t quite get to this every day but I would say I was successful for half of the month.
  • Work out a blog work schedule. It likely wasn’t the smartest idea to test this out in December, as I was busy with holiday things. However, I did my best to stick to a work schedule and I’m happy with how it went. With some tweaking, I will be able to stick to this going into 2024.
  • Post regularly. Yes, I did well with this.
  • Work on December and January’s posts. I ended up posting more than originally planned in December which is nice. I also have most of January’s posts done and scheduled, with a few drafted on top of that.
  • Reply to comments in a timely manner. I will call this a success. Only one week did I have a delay in replying to comments promptly.

January 2024 goals

Normally in January, I hit the ground running full force. However, this year I don’t want to burn myself immediately, so I am limiting how many goals I make this month. Besides, I have a lot of goals to work on this year. A lot of my focus will be on the blog.

  • Read at least 10 books. For January, I am hoping to start off strong with reading and tackling my TBR. So, I’m aiming for a minimum of 10 books read.
  • Study Japanese.  I’d like to do at least 30 minutes of studying each day, if I can do more than that, I will.
  • Watch at least 1 show from my Netflix to-watch list. I have 3 shows on my Netflix to-watch list, so I want to watch at least one of those this month.
  • Rearrange my reading area. I’ve been wanting to change the layout of my reading space for a while now and this month it will happen.
  • Complete a digital declutter. Doing a digital declutter is well overdue, so I will be working on that this month.
  • Try at least 2 new recipes. I want to try 20 new recipes this year, so I’m aiming to try at least 2 each month.

  • Finetune a blog work schedule. After testing out a blog work schedule last month, I will be focusing on tweaking it a bit to make it work better.
  • Post regularly. I plan to post 2-3 times per week. If I can post more often that would be fine too.
  • Work on February’s posts. Since January’s posts are mostly done, I want to put my focus on February’s posts. If I can stay ahead on this, it will make everything easier.
  • Reply to comments in a timely manner. The goal is to reply to them within 72 hours of receiving a comment.

I hope you enjoyed my January 2024 goals. What goals have you set this month?

  1. I’m looking to do another 12 Week Year. I think I hit the most goals when I did it the first time so I reread the book.

    My goals:
    -Finish 2 certifications
-post 200+ pieces of content (I’m really in my head about this)
    – lose 20 lbs (bc duh, it’s new years)

  3. Love your goals! I am hoping to read 3 or 4 books this month. Plus, I need to figure out some sort of posting schedule for social media… I was going to just not worry about it but I need some structure haha

  4. Such great goals! I’ve started some goals but need to sit down and make a good list.
