My Review:

I loved that this volume started with a burst of action. It also helped to highlight the inabilities of the other savior and how she and the prince are irresponsible and carelessly put others in danger. It honestly shows the difference between Tsukina and the other savior.

Throughout we are reminded of how useless the other savior is. She’s been coddled her whole life and thinks she doesn’t have to do anything here and just gets to act pretty and gain the attention of the prince. This clearly isn’t helpful to the kingdom, but one could also argue that Tsukina hiding away at her cafe isn’t helpful either.

However, her charms and potions are extremely helpful to Il and the knights, so while she’s not openly admitting to being a savior, her contributions do help keep the kingdom safe.

It was so nice to have Tsukina and Il spend more time together, even if his injuries were the main reason he was able to spend so much time at the cafe. Watching them bond more is just what we needed while danger and magic were sprinkled throughout the volume.

The way they fall into an easy routine together while he stays at the cafe shows how well-suited they are to each other. It’s clear he’s willing to do hard work or menial tasks because he cares for Tsukina nd wants to help her and be her equal in their relationship.

Something as simple as watching these two visit the market in town is so relaxing to experience and adds to the world and gives them something to do outside of sitting in the cafe reading and eating good food – though let’s face it the cafe is the highlight of the book as well, at least as far as locations go.

The aurora festival was a nice addition to the story and added a bit more world-building into the mix. This portion of the story is short but has a huge impact on the ending and what will come in the next volume.

We get to see Tsukina step up and embrace her role as savior. It was a hard decision for her to make, but her love of Il and the kingdom is what pushed her to ultimately embrace who and what she is.

The cozy vibes continue throughout this volume and I still adore the artwork, it’s vivid and welcoming all at once. We get a nice chunk of world-building, good character development, some action, and an event that will have major long-term effects on Tsukina, Il, and the kingdom.

I absolutely loved this volume and cannot wait to read the rest of the series which is on my TBR.

I hope you enjoyed my review of The Savior’s Book Cafe Story in Another World Vol 2. Have you read this book?
