My Review:

We find ourselves in Galgada, the kingdom Nina traveled to in order to marry Prince Sett. However, she is stuck waiting. Waiting to meet him, waiting for the wedding, waiting for everything.

Honestly, this wasn’t the best start to a book. It was dull. After the previous two volumes this felt like a letdown.

However, the waiting eventually came to an end and Nina finally met Sett.

This meeting did not go the way I expected it to. Much like all that waiting, their initial meeting was boring.

It is entirely possible that Sett put on a false front during their introduction to put her at ease. It will be interesting to see how he plays his hand as the volume continues. Will he still be this welcoming person or will his true colors show?

Also, the part with the bird, Neena, was fairly amusing and I could see how that could potentially complicate things going forward – or perhaps not. We will have to wait and see.

We get to meet Klimina and Mea again, who we met in the previous volume, and it was quite an experience how they are introduced to Nina. They know the true Prince Sett, whereas Nina only knows the man she met the other day – who shows her some kindness.

Things turn quickly after this and Nina finally knows what she is in for. The question is, will she be able to pull this off? Or will her true identity slip through?

We get to meet quite a few new characters throughout this volume, however, it’s Anne-chan who makes a great addition, especially for Nina. Though she is a servant, she actually talks to Nina, whereas the rest of them flatout ignore her.

There is quite an interesting moment between Nina and Sett. While it’s easy to see how this chain of events could have happened, you have to wonder if this was Sett’s way of testing Nina, but even taking that into account, he showed how much of a dick he can be.

However, it is her reaction to all of this that appears to affect him more than anything else.

Some life is pumped back into the story as Nina inserts herself into the castle life. It’s not that what had happened up until this point was completely boring, but there were a few too many slow parts. Sett as a whole is a new element for Nina to deal with and it’s clear it will take her time to truly blend in and find a place for herself here.

Nina’s antics may have helped her in one particular moment in this book, however, I can see how they may backfire and get her in deep trouble.

The end of the volume was jam-packed with several events. One has me wondering heavily if it is related at all to what happened to the real Nina or was it pure coincidence?

The final scenes, showing what is going on in the kingdom of Fortna certainly brought an unexpected ending to this volume. I have quite a few questions and I know I will need to keep reading in order to get the answers.

Overall, this volume started slow, stumbled a bit, and then had an excellent cliffhanger ending. We are introduced to a number of new characters and learn a decent amount about Galgada. Nina also grows quite a bit in this volume and several events are in place for what is to come next.

I have added the next volume to my TBR and cannot wait to continue reading this series.

I hope you enjoyed my review of Nina the Starry Bride Vol 3. Have you read this book?
